Appalachian Inspection Services works out of Fletcher and covers Asheville, Buncombe County, and the surrounding Western North Carolina region. Alongside the inspection itself they offer radon testing, pest inspections, and water testing. Rob Chambliss runs it, and the useful part is the order he did things in. On a steep lot, where most of the real questions come down to grading, drainage, and what the foundation is doing about both, someone who has built here reads a crawl space differently than someone working down a checklist. Ask about radon when you book. Buncombe County sits in EPA Radon Zone 1, the highest of the three, so bundling the test with the inspection is usually worth it — and if the number comes back high, you want it in writing while you still have room to negotiate.
