Contractors in Arden, NC

Arden isn’t its own town — it’s the stretch of south Buncombe County along Hendersonville Road between Asheville and Fletcher, wrapped around Biltmore Park and running down toward the airport. That’s why so many trade businesses are based here. The commercial space along US 25 and the I-26 interchange is where a contractor can afford a shop, a yard, and a showroom without paying downtown Asheville rent.

For homeowners, the practical effect is a deep bench of finish trades. This is the densest concentration of painters, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and interior design in the directory, along with roofing, gutters, fencing, chimney work, and restoration.

The houses tell a different story depending on which side of the road you’re on. The subdivisions off Long Shoals and around Biltmore Park are newer, largely built on graded lots, and the work tends to be updates and finishes. Go up toward Royal Pines or the older stretches near Glen Bridge and you’re into mid-century houses on real slopes, where a paint job or a floor replacement more often turns up something underneath it.

One local note: an Arden address doesn’t mean a business only works Arden. Most of these companies cover the whole southern half of Buncombe and cross into Henderson County daily. Ask about the far end of their range, not the near end.
